When I first saw the Webroot Secure Anywhere Plus software package I was a little dubious about some of their claims, especially since I've been wary of all the 'In the Cloud' software products on the market. After a long five month trial not only have my doubts disappeared, but I am impressed with the advantages that Webroot's on-line service provides that other malware detection and anti-virus programs do not.

Installing the software package was effortless and only took approximately 10 minutes. This was surprising until I realized that the software was a link to set up my account and link to the malware database on their server. Next, it did an automatic in-depth scan using the database from their server. The initial in-depth full scan took less than 20 minutes and successive quick scans (hidden in the background) run around 10 minutes. The advantage of having the database on their server is that it does not take up space on your hard drive and when Webroot revises their database agaist new attacks, you are protected immediately with the latest updates.

It should be noted that after testing dozens of AV programs we have never found one that detected and blocked or removed all malware. With thousands of new malware programs hitting the internet every day, sooner or later, one is bound to get through. I had nine malware or virus hits in the five month testing period and Webroot caught them all with the exception of one. Although it did not block it, it notified me that my PC had been infected and it was then easy for Webroot to remove.

I have Webroot Secure Anywhere Internet Security Plus installed on my PC, my laptop and my daughter's laptop. I can call up my account dashboard and check the virus or Malware activity as well as account details on any of these units from any one of my machines.

Webroot SecureAnywhere Internet Security Plus 2014™ is the new recent version that has many new added enhancements including faster scan speeds and more secure password protection for those of use who like to do purchases and banking on-line.

Webroot works quietly in the background without annoying pop-up windows telling you a new database is being downloaded (as so many others do) until it gets a hit or blocks an infected web site.
